Do you think you have a great idea and want to make sure it’s not going to fizzle in the middle? Or are you in the middle and its sagged?

Do you have great characters and a weak plot? Or a great plot and weak characters?
If you answered yes to one or more of the above questions, the Story Workshop may be right for you. The Story Workshop is a brainstorming session that involves a team approach to helping you develop your story before you spend precious time writing a story that isn’t or won’t ever work. We’ll brainstorm on character development, GMC (Goal, Motivation, and Conflict) and refine the plot. We’ll look at options for the climax and resolution. We can also work through ideas you may have for a series or sequel.
Rate:
$ 50 for the 1 hour/ $ 25 for each subsequent hour
Rate includes telephone calls, in-person meetings (for writers in the Metro Atlanta area who would like to meet me locally), emails and any work I may have to do on my own to assist you with through this process. However, this session should never take more than 2 hours if you are fully prepared for it. Prior to scheduling and after payment you will need to submit the following:

For unpublished authors, the first 1,500 to 3,000 words of the story. I will request more if I feel it is needed and you have it available. Mainstream published authors are not required to submit a writing sample.

Detailed character sketches.

A summary of the story or story idea. This does not have to be detailed, but can be. Up to 10 pages will be accepted. If you have an outline in excess of 10 pages, a $1 reading fee will apply for each additional page of the outline.
What you will receive:
A brainstorming session and detailed notes with my suggestions and/or the story points and character development issues we determine will work. This will be delivered by email 36 hours after the session is completed.
